From Sebastian’s point of view, she was simply playing hard to get with Marcus and the thought had him scowling wordlessly.

“Master Shaw…” Kingston exclaimed, “Master Shaw comes from a very strict background. The old Master of the Shaw Family would never allowed him to be involved in any scandal.”

“Besides, Master Shaw was very disciplined himself as well, how did…” Kingston looked over to Sebastian and immediately stopped himself from continuing. He meant to say that Sabrina was too resourceful to have not only successfully bound herself to Master Sebastian, but somehow managed to have flings with Master Nigel and with a self-disciplined elite such as Master Shaw.

She was far from an ordinary woman. However, he refrained from commenting further upon seeing the viciousness on Sebastian’s face.

Meanwhile, both Sabrina and Marcus were unaware that Sebastian witnessed every detail of their interaction from his car parked not far away.

“Mr. Shaw, please leave me alone!” She demanded, remaining composed and distant the entire time as she looked at Marcus.

Marcus pulled her backward again and said, “Miss Scott, I…I apologize, I was wrong, could you please forgive me? I only wanted us to be friends, and I had no intention of disrespecting you by treating you like a girlfriend. I only wished to get to know you and perhaps invite you to the Shaw Family’s residence as my guest. I am absolutely sincere about this.”

“Invite me?” Sabrina asked.

“Yes, you,” Marcus nodded decisively.

“Invite me, a woman who made a fool of herself at the Ford family’s party, a woman so poor that she didn’t even have $2,000 USD in hand, to the home of the almighty wealthy families like yours? Why? What could possibly prompt this?” Sabrina laughed sarcastically.

“As an apology,” Marcus replied.

“I’m sorry but I don’t need it. Mr. Shaw, I am asking you to leave me alone from this point onwards,” Sabrina refused indifferently and added, “If you continued to stalk me, I would consider taking legal action by seeking help from the police. Now if you’d excuse me!”

She then turned around and left with the lunchboxes she bought and headed towards Grace’s ward. Marcus stood in shock for a long while before he finally reached for his phone to make a call.

“Grandfather, that girl looked exactly like my aunt in the picture…” He said.

A weary voice came through the phone and said, “Invite her to our house, I need to see it for myself. It has been 30 years since I’ve lost your aunt.”

“…”

“What is it?” The voice asked, noticing the silence on the other end.

“She…I would try to convince her somehow, grandfather,” Marcus replied.

“She was not willing to come?” The weary voice asked, and this time, Marcus did not respond in fear of disappointing his grandfather.

“So the girl had a temper with integrity, precisely like every member of our family,” the voice said in approval, “Marcus, you must bring that girl back for me to meet her in person.”

“Yes, grandfather.” He hung up. He casted a final look over to the direction where Sabrina disappeared into before finally driving away.

Sebastian stepped out of his car as soon as he saw Marcus leaving and made his way towards his mother’s ward. He could already hear the laughter coming out of it before entering the room.

“Sabbie, what brought you here? It’s usually Sebastian who comes to visit me at this time of the day,” Grace asked joyfully.

“I made a small fortune today,” Sabrina replied with a smile. To her, not having to compensate for the camera she had thought was lost was as good as making a fortune, a small fortune of $1,000 USD.

“Oh, my. You’ve gotten your salary from your company?” Grace asked.

“It’s not my salary, more like an extra income. Don’t overthink it, mother. I came here because I wanted to have lunch with you. I saw the restaurant by the hospital’s entrance a few days ago, and their dishes seemed traditional. Their side dishes are the smoked types, so I’m sure they were all very appetizing. Here, give it a try,” She opened the lunchboxes and took a spoonful before feeding it to Grace. She was touched by such a heart-warming gesture. Grace took a bite and chewed enthusiastically.
